TUMATA
Turkish Music Research and Promotion Group
Founded in 1976 under the leadership of Dr. Rahmi Oruç Güvenç, who has conducted international studies on Central Asian and Turkish Music, Movement Therapy Tradition, and Sufism throughout his life, TÜMATA has been researching the origins, development, repertoire and instrumental richness, dances, and ritual aspects of Turkish music, which has a history spanning thousands of years, for 50 years, and has continued to share this ancient knowledge, provide training, and organize concerts and performances.
TUMATA reminds us in its performances that music is not only a branch of art but also a field of balance, harmony and healing, and with this understanding, it continues to carry out its work, which has been ongoing for half a century, in both academic and experiential media.

Today, TUMATA carries not only the ancient teachings and traditions of music and healing through movement, passed down from the past and ancestors, but also the universal healing power of sound into the future.
The story of TUMATA reminds us once again that music is a way of remembering the truth, awakening and integration.
This call to remember continues to rise from TUMATA with authentic instruments, seminars, concerts, trainings, dances and symposiums.
Because the sound is still the oldest and purest
one of the ways of healing.
