In these centers, music, the sound of water, fragrances, natural light, colors, and hot and cold water baths were integral parts of the treatment. The physician was considered a sage who healed not only the body but also the soul. This approach in these healing centers was based on a profound medical philosophy that considered humanity as a whole, intertwined with nature and the universe.
In this presentation, the medical approach, architecture, and spiritual dimensions of the period will be discussed through the healing centers of the Seljuk and Ottoman periods; a cultural and therapeutic perspective will be presented on how ancient healing methods can be combined with modern medicine.
